New patients

I love the relaxed atmosphere and how easy it was to talk to everyone! A great first chiropractic experience!

We're looking forward to serving you! Here's what to expect on your first visit:

1. New Patient Paperwork

Upon arrival, you will be greeted by our front desk team, who will help you with your online paperwork if you haven't yet completed it
The paperwork allows us to understand your general health and primary complaint so that we are best prepared to perform your examination and determine the cause of your problem(s). You will then be given a tour of our centre so that you know where things are and what to expect. They will then take you to the Exam Room where the doctor will first meet with you to begin the consultation and exam.

2. Consultation

During the consultation, Dr. Amar will go over an extensive history with you in regards to your current and past health challenges, if any.
She will also spend time discussing any impacts, stresses or traumas your spine and nervous system may have gone through. We strongly feel that the more we know about you, the more we can help, and that is our primary mission.

3. Examination

Following the consultation, our Doctor will complete our comprehensive examination.
The exam done at our center is very thorough and expansive, allowing us to figure out what is going on with your health, and what the cause of any health challenges are. Once the cause(s) are determined, a care plan will be created on an individualized basis. Our goal is to help you achieve your health goals so you have an amazing quality of life

4. Spinal X-rays

The second part of the exam may include the taking of spinal x-rays (when necessary, most times this is not needed in pediatric cases).
We have state of the art digital imaging which keeps the dosage to a minimum. This allows us to see what is going on with the structure of your spine, and how it relates to any health challenges. The major emphasis of our initial exam is to evaluate your spine and nervous system, determine how it is functioning, and find where the stress and challenges are that will need to be addressed. Your first visit may take anywhere from 30-45 minutes depending on your individual case.

5. Report of Findings

Once the information is collected and all examinations are performed, the Doctor will present you with a detailed
The report of findings includes the results of your examination and the recommendations going forward. Dr. Amar will share your examination findings with you, including reviewing the results of your x-rays if taken. If the cause of your problem(s) is found, Dr. Amar will let you know how we can help you. Recommendations for care will be given and any questions that you may have will be discussed as we strive in educating our patients. The care recommendations vary in length of time and frequency of visits, depending on your case.

6. On Regular Visits

On a typical visit during the course of your care, you will always be greeted warmly by our incredible front desk staff.
They will first have you sign in electronically for your appointment. When you see the doctor for your adjustment they will have all of your examination information, including posture and X-rays digitally displayed, in order to provide the best care for your case. Every part of the care in our office contributes to the process designed to restore your health and wellness. So while you will likely have more frequent visits in the beginning you will be seeing progress with each step along the way!
We provide answers below to many of the questions we receive about chiropractic care. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to reach out to us. We are happy to help!
What are subluxations and what causes them?
A subluxation occurs when the spinal vertebrae are misaligned or have improper movement affecting nerve communication between the brain and the body. Your nervous system controls every cell, tissue, organ and system of your body. These nerve impulses travel through your spine. So having a spine free of subluxations is essential for optimal health. Therefore, having a spine with minimal subluxations is essential for optimal health- this applies to all ages; even in utero! There are three basic causes of subluxations. Physical causes could include slips and falls, accidents, repetitive motions and poor postural habits. Emotions such as grief, anger and fear can contribute to subluxations. Chemical causes could include alcohol, drugs, pollution and poor diet.
How do I know if I have a subluxation?
You can have subluxations and not even know it. Like the early stages of tooth decay or cancer, subluxations can be present before warning signs appear. The results of a thorough examination can show the location and severity of subluxations you may have. We preach being proactive with your health – have your spinal check-up before you even feel pain. Waiting until symptoms arise is considered being reactive rather than proactive. Only 10% of the nerves feel pain so if you wait until you have pain, there is already nerve pressure.
Will I have to have x-rays taken?
X-rays can be helpful, but are not required in every patient’s case. We will determine if x-rays are necessary once we review your health history and examine your spine. Our x-ray analysis is designed to accurately and safely help locate the cause of your problem, and allows us to begin care with no guesswork. Our office only takes those x-rays which are necessary.
How does an adjustment feel and how long will it take?
Patients report that being adjusted feels great. However, in some cases the individual may be sore the first couple of times. This is because your body is essentially resisting the movement that we are aiming to restore at a specific spinal segment. You can compare this to when you workout after a long time and feel soreness the next few days. Following an adjustment the vital nerve energy it releases can last for hours, days, or even weeks, depending on the stage of your care. Each adjustment builds on top of the previous one – therefore it takes time for your body to heal and change at a structural level.
Do I need a Referral to visit a Chiropractor?
Absolutely not. Doctors of Chiropractic are primary health care providers, meaning you do not need a referral. If yours is not a Chiropractic case, a responsible Chiropractor will refer you to the appropriate health care provider.
Will my insurance cover chiropractic care?
Insurance plans will reimburse you for a portion of your chiropractic care. Most have a limit on what they’ll pay. In our centre we will provide you with a statement receipt for your care that you can submit to your insurance, and they will reimburse you up to the limit that they contribute to. Any sort of coverage is a bonus! A lot of our patients pay for their health care plans out of pocket as we make care affordable for all families.
Do you see many children in your centre?
YES! We love the amount of children and families we care for! Our chiropractors have extensive experience taking care of infants, children and teens. After school hours are some of our favorite times because of the influx of families!
Why do kids need to see a chiropractor?
There are actually a variety of reasons for a child to see a chiropractor. In fact, the #1 reason children see a chiropractor is for wellness. Many parents nowadays are choosing to be proactive with their children’s health, rather than reactive. Many of our parents bring their newborn infants to our centre within days of their birth, or we provide a home visit to check them sooner. Other common reasons for children to see a chiropractor include difficulty nursing, colic, and ear/sinus infections, which are conditions that often occur along with problems with the upper neck that is often caused by birth trauma such as a caesarian section or forceps delivery. Since chiropractic seeks to restore balance and proper function to the nervous system, chiropractic for these kids often has life-altering changes!
Is it safe to be adjusted while pregnant?
Absolutely! In fact, chiropractic care is very beneficial during pregnancy. Not only does it allow for the mother to feel her best throughout the entire process but by balancing the nervous system, relieving stress, improving pelvic alignment and decreasing any tightness in the pelvic muscles/ligaments it can prepare a mother for her best labor yet! Most of our doctors are certified in Webster’s Technique, which is specifically designed for adjusting pregnant mothers.
SAFE, ATTENTIVE AND PERSONALIZED

Award Winning Chiropractic Care

We believe that health exists when every part of your body is functioning properly. True health occurs when your brain can communicate, uninterrupted, with the rest of your body, tell it what to do, and when to do it. While the resolution of health is typically regarded as something that requires treatment or therapy from the outside in, we recognize that the best treatment is enabling the body to health itself – from the inside-out.
